In chapter “Main slider settings” you can choose where you want to show the slider:

1. In header (1).
2. Inside front/home page (2).
3. In header and inside front/home page (you can choose different posts for different sliders) (1, 2).

If you will use slider type – Fullwidth slider – you can choose how many characters will shown in the announcements (3) or you can hide announcements (4).Here you can see main slider (type Carousel slider) in header:
